Why Ningxia and Qinghai Produce the World's Best Goji Berries

Goji berries are grown in many parts of the world, but the berries from Ningxia and Qinghai in China are consistently recognised as the finest. Here is why.

Ningxia Province has been cultivating goji berries for centuries. The region sits in a semi-arid basin with intense sunshine (over 3,300 hours per year), wide diurnal temperature variation (up to 16°C between day and night), and mineral-rich alkaline soil. These conditions stress the plants in a productive way — driving the accumulation of flavour compounds and nutrients in the berries.

Qinghai Province, on the Tibetan Plateau, adds altitude to the equation. At approximately 1,600 metres above sea level, the stronger UV radiation and cleaner air create ideal conditions for organic cultivation. The soil in our Qinghai orchard has never been treated with synthetic chemicals, making it well-suited to certified organic production.

The combination of these two growing regions gives gojix a unique supply advantage: Ningxia for volume and the classic goji profile, Qinghai for premium organic raw material.

All gojix products are traceable to specific orchard blocks, and we provide full documentation — including organic certificates and certificates of analysis — with every shipment.
